Norbert Baier

Norbert Baier is a German business angel and long-term early-stage technology investor. He serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hybrid Lidar Systems AG, while his saved LinkedIn profile also records investments in TheLeafX Corporation and MobiDigger AG.

In 2005, Business Angels Deutschland named Baier Business Angel of the Year. The award followed nominations from two companies he had supported with both capital and operational expertise: va-Q-tec AG and InsideM2M GmbH, whose founding team included Hubert A.-M. Moik.

BAND described Baier as an investor particularly effective in difficult situations, combining commercial judgement with a practical understanding of what a young company could realistically achieve. He had already been active in the northern Bavarian business angel network since 2001.

His connection with Hybrid Lidar therefore fits a much longer investment record. The company’s legal notice names him as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, while his saved LinkedIn history records him as an investor from April 2023 and chairman from June 2025.
