Martin Atzinger

Martin Atzinger is a Munich-based architect whose work spans architecture, landscape design, and interior architecture. Working across disciplines and beyond regional boundaries, he combines sensitivity with precision to create spaces distinguished by atmosphere, well-being, and freedom of expression for those who use them.

He describes himself in direct terms: “At heart, I am someone who supports others. By profession, I am an architect, and my passion is creating things with my own hands.”

When asked about the greatest challenge of his professional career, Martin answered: “Turning down commissions.” He named John Lautner’s Sheats-Goldstein Residence as the most significant building in architectural history.

Asked where he would most like to live, he chose “a loft near Munich’s English Garden.” And when asked what he would have become had he not pursued architecture, his answer was characteristically simple: “Unhappy.”
